A mouth-watering collection of delicious dishesOct 09, 2008 Dessert is the cap on any great meal, a treat for any special occasion, a comfort in times of stress, and just plain fun to eat any time and for any reason. Expertly co-authored by Mary Leigh Furrh (former food editor of Mississippi Magazine) and Jo Barksdale (freelance author of food articles and reviews for many of Mississippi's leading newspapers), "The 100 Greatest Desserts Of The South" truly lives up to its title with recipes for memorable desserts that are as palate pleasing as they are 'kitchen cook friendly' to prepare and serve. From Judy Blackburn's Walnut Cream Cake; to Shelley's Party Balls; to Martha Washington Creams; to Corrine's Southern Belle Brownies; to the Eloa Hotel's Hot Pear and Raspberry Compte, "The 100 Greatest Desserts Of The South" is a mouth-watering collection of delicious dishes and a welcome addition to personal and community library Regional Cookbook collections.

Great BookOct 06, 2008 This is a great book, especially if you care for true Southern cooking and desserts. A true delight to not only read, but to hopefully have some time to whip up these desserts. This author is a great one, knows all about Southern Cooking and I was thrilled when I saw she had a new book available. 5 Star all the way!
