Okay...but there are better books.Feb 22, 2008

Upon opening the book I find out this used to be a diabetic cookbook, it's just been renamed to take advantage of the success of the "First Place" program. HO HUM! If you are considering this book, do yourself a huge favor and get "HELP: Healthy Lifetime Exchanges" and/or the "Healthy Exchanges Cookbook". Either of those will give you a wider variety of good recipes than this less-than-exciting "First Place" book. I am just mad that I even spent the money to buy it. ANY one of Joanna Lund's books, or any of Jyl Steinback's books, would be a much better use of your book dollar, trust me on this. I have a huge collection of low fat/fat free cookbooks, and this "First Place" imposter is not staying in it! It will go on Freecycle at the first opportunity. I feel bad for anyone wasting the gas to come get it.
