This book is a great idea for any new teacher, not just middle school teachers. I am a fourth year teacher and I was able to take a lot of the information in the book and use it in my classroom. I'm not a new teacher, but I was looking for a sense of renewal by reading advice given to new teachers. There were some minor points with which I would disagree, but overall, I found the book to be full of very sound information and should prove very useful to new teachers.

Excellent. A 'must read' for any new middle or high school teacher. It is well-organized and informative. It reminds the reader of what was learned through educational training as well as offers some tips and suggestions that will enable the new teacher to have a comfort level about the first day, first month, first marking period and the first year.
