This book is missing a vital element.Jun 03, 1999
In the introduction, the authors advise that it is necessary to use a map to find the "natural wonders". The authors even tell the reader how to obtain a map. Question: Why isn't there a map in the book? Just a simple map of Ohio with dots numbered to match the places mentioned.

I agree with 'a customer' about the no maps issues I have with the book, but that should hardly stop you from ignoring one of the few green/outdoor guide-books on Ohio.
This book has a very comprehensive collection of camping, hiking, boating, picnicking, and other general outdoor activities well laid out for you in 'areas' of Ohio that is not found in many other such travel books. From the Mohican to the Little River, from the Erie Islands to the Hocking Valley, the book has interesting guides that will keep you lot more outdoor active than you thought you could be in the 'plain' state of Ohio. Besides these popular places, the book also brings to light some less known areas that I have explored and will continue to do so; and this is where the book wins. Though not all places are worth the drive, a treasure here and there will bring out the Magellan in all of us.
Though most of the places are well described and the authors bring-out the nature in them, some of the (in my opinion) nicer areas are glazed over while some others get the (more than) full treatment. But all in all, the authors do a pretty good job in bringing out some natural wonders of Ohio.
