"Goof"
This book is really "Teaching 101." There are no great revelations, or "secrets." I was looking for real tips to make teaching Social Studies easier, but didn't find them in this book. If you had never taught before, this book would be helpful, but if you've ever taught anything this book isn't going to help you much. Tips like, "take a college class" and "try to connect the topic to your students' lives" are too basic for someone who has ever taught before.

I have not yet read the entire book, but what I have read has been useful. I am a first year single subject credential student and this book has a lot of great ideas for future teachers. Many of the things highlighted can be used in other content areas as well.
