Good Book to Bridge Science and ReadingOct 15, 2011
By Mr.B I used this book to write unit plans for a college course. This would be a great novel for young readers to bridge science and reading classes. Great addition for an interdisciplinary unit. Would also recommend for young readers interested in mystery, science, space, adventure, etc.
Great for any age!Jan 04, 2009
By truthbetold I heard about this book listening to NPR one day and suggested it to my book club since we live in Huntsville. Found it an enjoyable read and highly recommend it for school reading lists. Plan on getting Longleaf and hope Mr. Reid continues to write more adventures.
A worthy sequel.Dec 16, 2008

I hope Roger keeps up the good work. I knew a good deal about the setting for his first book (the longleaf forest), but very little about the setting for his second book (space). As Roger has told me "it's a little bigger ecosystem."
I enjoyed Space, and I really commend him for doing such a good job at getting the science correct in both Longleaf and Space. The people I have talked to at NASA were as excited about Space as I was with Longleaf.
